Professor Doctor Wigner’s Friend (Sketch)
The Universe is filled with strange quirks.
Here’s the moment Dr. Eugene Wigner* realizes his thought experiment explaining two different Realities are equally valid.
In 1961, BEAMT!ME pops in to visit Professor Wigner at Princeton University, bringing a surprise inside a Quantum Box. As a friend, BEAMT!ME privately opens to check on (and collapse) the System inside the Box. Outside, at the exact same time, Professor Wigner (disguising himself with a fake handlebar mustache) tries himself to decide the condition inside the Quantum Box. Like a child, try as he might, the Professor must recognize all the possibilities inside a gift-wrapped Box.. At that moment, who’s Reality is accurate? The Professor’s view with various possible outcomes, or his Friend’s who checked inside the Quantum Box?
*Honoring Dr. Eugene Wigner, 1963 Nobel Prize winning Physicist for his numerous contributions to the theory of the atomic nucleus and the elementary particles.
Acknowledgement of 2019 experiment at Heriot-Watt Univeristy (Edinburgh Scotland) that lends considerable strength to Wigner’s Friend thought experiment.
